Jeff Mauro grew up in Chicago with a big family and love of food and the performing arts. After graduating college, he ran a deli with his cousin while simultaneously performing at night in the Chicago run of Tony n' Tina's Wedding, thus solidifying his love for both food and comedy. He attended the Kitchen Academy in Los Angeles, graduating valedictorian of his class. He went on to win season seven of Food Network Star and launched his Emmy-nominated show, Sandwich King, which ran for three seasons. He's currently a cohost of the Emmy-nominated The Kitchen, which is not in its twenty-eighth season. He still lives in "the neighborhood" with his wife, son, and two dogs, Jojo and Pinot G.
