Cauzon 2019 Tempranillo

Origin: Granada, Andalucia, Spain
Grape varieties: 100% Tempranillo

About the Wine, Winemaker, & Winemaking Process

This high-altitude, 100% Tempranillo comes from Ramón Saavedra's north-facing vineyards in Cortes y Graena, on the north side of Sierra Nevada mountains. No chemicals are used in the vineyards.

The 'Cauzon' is aged in stainless steel with occasional use of small old barrels. Ramón’s terruño speaks for itself so very little intervention is required in the cellar. Native yeast fermentation, no filtering or fining at any time and no additives of any kind, no sulfur.

Eben Lillie, who is one of the owners of Chamber Street Wines in NYC and one of the first introductions I had to natural wine, wrote an article about Ramón, calling his Tempranillos the best he'd ever tasted! (Read the article here, if you'd like)

This is an incredibly well-rounded wine that will really impress you at this price point! Would pair nicely with everything from grilled burgers (with onions!!), to a shaved ham & butter sandwich, to a simple cheese plate. Give it a try!
